What the checker looks at
- Contact basics and recognisable CV sections.
- ATS-friendly structure and readability.
- Evidence of results, scale and measurable impact.
- Skills and common recruitment terminology.
- Role-specific keyword alignment.
- Vacancy-specific language when you paste a job advert.
Why job title matters
A CV cannot be meaningfully “optimised” in the abstract. A warehouse operative application should not be judged against the same terminology as a project manager or teaching assistant application. That is why ApplyWell connects the checker to a growing role database.
What the score does not mean
The ApplyWell ATS Readiness Score is our own readiness estimate. It is not the score used by a specific employer, and it cannot predict an interview. Employers use different applicant-tracking systems, screening questions and recruiter processes.
Best use: treat the score as a diagnostic. Use the breakdown and missing evidence to decide what deserves attention before you apply.
How to get the most accurate check
- Upload or paste your current CV.
- Select the closest target job title.
- Paste the actual job advert when you have one.
- Review the strongest and weakest areas.
- Only add missing keywords when they genuinely reflect your experience.
